About me and my car(s)
I Purchased the car in May 2025. It's a 2011 MiTo Quadrifoglio in Nero Etna which is black but has a brown/purple flake to it in the sun. It's one of the early Quadrifoglios, meaning it carries the prior cloverleaf front bumpers etc.
I wanted something sporty as a fist car but not the usual Fiesta ST or Corsa VXR. Being Pre-2014 it has the 6-Speed manual and it's truly a underrated good bit of fun.
My plans for the future are to tidy it up by getting the wheels refurbished and after that i'd like to potentially achieve a little bit more power and no doubt some impulse purchases.

About me and my car(s)
Parents' old business still visible and operating in Bradford. Most recently lived in Beverley, East Yorks but recently moved across the Humber Bridge into North Lincs (Burton Waters, near Lincoln) so I will be looking to use both sections and attending NORTH events mostly.
Bradford Grammar School, Cambridge Uni (Trinity 1984), then long general /commercial insurance career in Reading, London, then overseas for 20 Years (Central Asia, Russia, Eastern Europe). Now slowing down to part time, still doing some insurance consultancy work plus marine cargo surveys. Currently off work and not driving a manual gearbox following first knee replacement surgery (with 2nd knee due end of this year).
Now all I own is the 1976 S2 Spider which is coming to the end of its respray/restoration/modification (Alfaholics)/interior trim process. I should be able to use it and drive it from Q2 sometime next year. I will need to update the AROC Guardian page for this vehicle after completion.
I have changed the paintcode from Alfa 008 (porcelain white) to a classic jaguar old english white and the interior is changing from black to burgundy/ red. The mechanicals are getting a whole load of work done. It will have the smoke grey alfaholics GTA rims. Details of work attached. It should/will drive like a different car. Ben Thompson (105 series specialist) is doing the work for me at Majestic Motors in Kenilworth, near Birmingham.

AROC Guardian
AROC’s clever ‘Guardian’ initiative is a brilliant way to showcase your Alfa. It lets you create a personalised web page for your cherished car, hosted via the Club’s main site. You’ll also get a unique QR code linked to that page—printed onto a smart tax disc-style display for your windscreen. And of course if you’ve more than one you can create page for each.
It’s a great conversation starter at shows and gatherings. Anyone passing by can scan the code and instantly explore your car’s story, complete with photos and details. Even better, the code stays with the car—so if it ever changes hands, its history can easily be passed to its next proud keeper (or should we say, guardian). That makes it especially handy for classics!
It’s a fantastic tool for all Club members to use—for any Alfa they own—and the best part is, it’s completely free!
CREATE YOUR ALFA’S OWN GUARDIAN PAGE
Go to AROC-UK.com and top right, log on with your details under MY AROC and select my cars. (You need to have entered your car there for it to appear of course.) For the Guardian page, you’ll need some words, and a few photos of your Alfa, it then takes very little time to create the page and to generate your ‘tax disc’ in a choice of colours and the unique QR code people can scan to be taken directly to your new page.
If you don’t have a printer please let John know and if you send him your image he’ll print it for you for free.
Here’s an example of a complete page featuring John’s Giulia Quadrifoglio: https:// aroc-uk.com/guardian/2995/ Over time John’s turned it into a bit of a blog, you don’t need to make yours anything like as long of course!
You can readily add to your own once published, and when you come to sell the Alfa, as it transfers to its new guardian, they can take on the page too. That was the root idea of the name of course, and for some older cars in particular some owners only feel they are a temporary custodian.
