While there was more rain on the third and final day of the Revival, the only Alfa action of the day took place on a dry track in brilliant sunshine. Alex Furiani had to finish ahead of two big American monsters  – Dwight Merriman’s Plymouth Barracuda, which started recently places behind him and Bill Shepherd’s Ford Galaxie, which started 11 places in front. Or, at least, finish within three seconds of them. He finished twelve places ahead of Merriman – just ahead of another Barracuda in the hands of Duncan Pittaway.

Unfortunately, on the dry track Shepherd drove away from the field to take the win, with Furiani 6th, almost 24 seconds behind. It was, however, enough to secure the runners-up spot.

Of the remaining GTAs, Nikolaus Ditting was 10th after an epic battle with the BMW Ti of  Tom Sharp, François Rivaz 16th, Roderick Jack 19th and Christian von Lanschot 23rd. Matthew Holme and Mike Hilton retired.

And that’s it for another year. A full report and pictures will appear in the October issue of Alfa Romeo Driver.
