Yorkshire Section Sapphire Anniversary Day Sunday 12th July
Yorkshire Section Sapphire Anniversary Day Supported by Piccadilly Motors
2015 marks the AROC Yorkshire Section’s Sapphire Anniversary. With the better weather with us at last, why not join us to celebrate our Section’s Sapphire Anniversary Day at Newby Hall near Ripon in North Yorkshire on Sunday July 12?
Newby Hall has quite rightly been described as one of the best days out in Yorkshire! Designed under the guidance of Sir Christopher Wren, this graceful country house epitomises the Georgian Age of Elegance. It’s beautifully restored interior presents Robert Adam at his best.
The award-winning gardens boast one of Europe’s longest double herbaceous borders and incorporates a thoughtfully designed Adventure Garden for children with a miniature railway, island fort, boating and water play. A stylish shop, a top class restaurant and a quality plant stall complete a wonderful family attraction.
Attractions for the Alfisti
Being the venue for two National Alfa Days in the recent past, visitors from all Sections of the AROC will be made most welcome and can look forward to the many attractions on offer for both Petrol Heads and all family members alike at this exciting venue. Our friends at Piccadilly Motors will be on hand to answer questions about the exciting new, recently announced Giulia and will be onsite with the Alfa Romeo Hospitality Unit and a selection of current models. They’re also bringing an 8C and a 4C for our visual – and aural – delight!
On the day there’ll be an informal Concours, where all cars entering the events field will be automatically entered into a competition for prizes to be presented at the end of the Show. There is no need to pre-book.
There’ll also be two dedicated display areas, one featuring the iconic Alfasud range of cars and, to mark the anniversary of its entry to the UK market, the charismatic 75. Again, there’ll be no need to pre-book. Drivers of Alfasud and 75 models will be invited to their respective display areas on entry to the events field. Subject to weather conditions, there’ll be the return of the ever-popular Newby Hall Auto Test too! Fancy a go? Once more, there is no need to pre-book so you can put your driving skills to the test should you wish to give it a try on the day!
Perhaps you own a rare and not often seen Alfa Romeo? No problem. Our marshals on the day will be on the lookout for you and more than likely you’ll be asked if you want to park your vehicle among our Special Interest display, while visitors from the AROC North East Section will have their own dedicated parking area. Club Manager Nick Wright will be in attendance with the Club Van and Gazebo featuring a range of clothing and accessories from the AROC Shop.
The Alfa Romeo Owners Club is affiliated to The Institute of Advanced Motorists. As the UK’s leading road safety charity, the IoAM brings fifty years of experience, passion and understanding to help improve the skills and understanding of UK drivers and create safer roads for everyone and they’ll be here at Newby Hall!
