The Tributo Italiano editions of Tonale, Giulia, Stelvio are now available to order. Alfa describes them as the top of each range but that’s only because it considers Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio to be ‘ranges’ in their own right.

We covered the announcement extensively in Notiziario and on our YouTube channel, but essentially they have virtually every option bundled in and some nice touches like Tributo Italiano stitching on the dash and headrests. There might have been some potential for confusion for newcomers to the brand, unclear on the differences between the TI models and the… TI-but-not-TI models, but that was taken care of shortly afterwards.

The TI-spec is no more – and the trim levels are now consistent across Tonale, Giulia and Stelvio – with Sprint as the entry level, Veloce as the mid-range and Tributo Italiano at the top. Sprint is around £4,000 cheaper than TI, too, which means that the Tonale MHEV is now available from £35,995, the Giulia from £39,995 and the Stelvio from £45,495 and prices are reduced on Veloce, too, by £1,525.

Not much else has changed – Tonale Sprint has a “sportier aesthetic” than the TI variants – black inserts on the body kit and skid plate, black and white wheel centre caps and a dark Miron scudetto  – and Tonale also gets a highly shock resistant, lightweight (15g) wearable key, that is water resistant up to 15 metres, for those of us frustrated that we had to leave the key somewhere safe while swimming -and we can confirm that the multi-coloured ambient dash lighting which has always been available on left-hand drive models, will now be available on UK-spec cars.

Now, if that’s not news, I don’t know what is. Other changes include heated leather seats as standard with four-way driver and passenger lumbar adjustment, heated steering wheel and washer nozzles and ambient dash lighting on the Tonale Veloce – ending the situation where the £300 heated steering wheel option actually cost over £3,000 because you had to add leather and the Harmon Kardon audio upgrade. Oh, and the body kit is now gloss black.

On Giulia and Stelvio we now have additional safety technology including Driver Attention Alert (DAA) and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR). The Sprint trim on both models adds new black cloth seats, and the Veloce has dark tinted rear windows and red painted brake calipers. Giulia Sprint prices are down £3,264, Veloce down £2,764 and Stelvio Sprint customers will save £1,845 – £1,345 on the Veloce (petrol models).
