May Monthly News Letter

East Anglia
9 May 2023

Hi All

I trust you are all well.

I hope you all enjoyed the latest Bank Holiday weekend, even if you didn’t watch the coronation, I hope you enjoyed the extra time off. Debenham turned up in force for our street party, how I cut the grass after I staggered home…!

Just as importantly, well done to all those that helped and attended Spring Alfa Day at IWM Duxford. What a great day and thank you to club manager Nick Wright and Phil Gotts for organising all us marshals!

Just before Duxford we had a Cars and Coffee Meet at The Old Ferry Boat at Holywell, 17 or 18 cars attended (plus drivers and passengers of course) and just after a Monthly Meet at The Elm at Abbots Ripton, which was also better attended that the last couple of evening meets.

There are lots of photos on the section fb page see below;

IMPORTANT STUFF, SEE BELOW!

I have booked a stand for 35 cars for Kimbolton and 30 for Helmingham. A number of events seem to be changing their booking systems. Kimbolton wants you all to book online, but then you have to tell me you’re coming, then I have to confirm the number going, and book a space big enough! (Comment has been made re last year’s stand being undersize!) Tickets are available now, but remember to tell me you’ve booked so I can book your slot on the stand. See Below:

Club members can book here:

https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/kimbolton-castle-rotary-club

 Members will need to use the following code to access club stand tickets: KCFCCS2023

Club members can book in advance to access the early bird price of £13.50 until 18th June 2023. But do let me know!

Helmingham and Glemham I will have to book as a block so let me know which you want to go to, the Oaksmere which is on the same day as Glemham will be a come and go as you please relaxed event. Keep letting me know which one of these three you want to attend. The Oaksmere is looking to be the ‘Official’ section event judging by the response so far.
