From the Club Manager

Hello and welcome to my e-mail newsletter to keep you updated with some of the things going on at the Club and also to remind you of some forthcoming events which we hope you will come along and support.

The next national event is at Mallory Park on 19th June. It has been confirmed the AROC Alfas will have their practice and races all on the Sunday. This does reduce costs for competitors and spectators alike. Come along and see the AROC Alfas in action on track More >

The next round of the AROC Sprint Series is now open for bookings, which takes place at Woodbridge, Suffolk on 22nd May More >

Plans are progressing nicely for National Alfa Day at Basildon Park in Reading on 17th July More >

Are you a winner ? Brunox kindly offered AROC members the chance to win some of the products from their range. Full details are on page 8 of the April magazine. All you need to do is answer the following question “What is the name of the new Alfa Romeo concept car launched at the Geneva Motor Show this year?” Just email your answer to brunoxcomp@alfa44.freeserve.co.uk  for a chance to win.

My tour of AROC Sections meets continues. I have now had the pleasure of visiting seven different sections and I hope, for those I have met, that it has been as interesting and enjoyable for you as it was me. These visits are continuing on a weekly basis and 16th May is the re launch of the Surrey section which we are very much looking forward to.

A part of my job specification is to keep the membership up to date with what I am doing. A significant part of my time is taken up on the commercial side of the Club. As detailed in the last magazine only 56% of the Club income is from membership fees so you will appreciate the importance of sustaining advertising, sponsorship and developing other income streams.

We have introduced some membership schemes including Introduce a Friend and reduced joining fees in certain circumstances and we hope these will encourage some new members.

As you may be aware, Andrew Brown is standing down as editor of our magazine after the June edition. I am sure I am not alone in thanking him for producing such a superb magazine which we all look forward to reading. So, thanks Andrew!
To ensure there is continuity in the magazine I have been working with Peter Edwards and I am sure you will all join me in welcoming Peter as the new editor

I have mentioned in my previous newsletter that there are development plans for the website and especially updating some of the content. These are still on going and I hope to be able to update you on this in the near future.

As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to call or email me.

Look forward to seeing you.

Nick Wright
