Geoff & Olivia Scutt made the trip 'up north' to York to take part in the centenary celebrations and write….

"Gloomy skies and the persistent spectre of rain did little to dampen the enthusiasm of those dyed-in-the-wool Alfisti who made the pilgrimage to York to celebrate this important landmark. Against the backdrop of a handful of red, white and green canopied market stalls and the strains of ‘O sole mio’ et al wafting from one end of Parliament Square, 104 Alfas proudly lined the ancient city centre streets to treat the good folk of York to a visual feast of Italian engineering flair and unadulterated automotive style! The display clearly intrigued the locals and drew many enquiring (and envious) looks as people went about their Sunday shopping but without doubt the showpiece had to be the sleek, black, feline 8C luring young and old alike to gaze with awe and admiration!

Picadilly Motors from Knaresborough were on hand to lend their support and to engage with all who wished to know more or who were tempted to go ‘up market’ in their next car purchase!

Despite a somewhat meagre representation of true classic Alfas on show it proved nevertheless to be a great showcase for the marque as well as for the Club. Well done to all those who put in the time and effort to make it happen!"
