February News Letter

East Anglia
7 February 2023

Hi All

Our first meet of the year on a foul night saw a small but hardy group at the Four Horseshoes at Thornham Magna. Hearty food and much laughter as always. Do come and try meeting up with us next time we are meeting in your area.

Shortly after our visit to the Four Horseshoes, Guy Swarbrick messaged to say he had stayed at the pub and sent me some great aerial footage and photos taken with his drone, great images, but then as we know, he is a professional photographer!

We have a very busy series of events this year, in some new areas and venues, plus some Sunday morning Car and Coffee meets which are getting very popular, we also have a major clash in September with three on the same day, let me know your choices! See below;

Coming Up!

Thursday 23th February, Monthly Meet, 7.00pm The Plough and Fleece, High Street, Horningsea, Cambs, CB25 9JG

Now just to throw a spanner in the works, the pub is currently closed until the 15th Feb, if the re-opening is delayed I will be in touch!!

Thursday 23rd March. 7pm Monthly Meet The Rushbrooke Arms, Sicklesmere, Suffolk, IP30 0BU

Saturday 25th March, Cars and Coffee style meet! 9am onwards, The Liberator Restaurant (formerly  ‘Jimmy’s), Old Buckenham Airfield, Abbey Rd, Old Buckenham NR17 1PU, United Kingdom

Saturday 8th April Cars and Coffee, 9am till 12pm , CAMBS Old Ferry Boat, Holywell, Holywell Front, St. Ives. PE27 4TG, Coffee, a breakfast and a good natter, come and go as you want!

Sunday 16th April Spring Alfa Day next year will be on the 16th April at Duxford Imperial War Museum Obviously they will want a good turnout of section members to marshal, who will get free entry of course!

Since we were last there as a club, they have rejuvenated the American Air Museum so a great selection of Alfas and an updated American Hall to see and all the usual attractions, the workshops are always worth a visit.

Further details will of course follow.

Looking Further Ahead! Clash Alert!!!

We have three events on the same day, we are of course free to go to all, but do we need to pick one as the ‘prime’ section event, do let me know your thoughts!

Sunday 3rd September, Southern Alfa Day, The Historic Dockyard, Chatham, Kent.  ME4 4TZ

Sunday 3rd September, Italian Car and Bike Day, The Oaksmere, Eye, Suffolk, IP23 8AJ

Sunday 3rd September, Classics at Glemham. Little Glemham, Suffolk, IP13 0BT,

Don’t Book Via Their Website!! This year they have moved to the Helmingham format of  me having to buy all the tickets, in one go. So that if you want to go, do let me know and tenner up front!! No need to rush though!

I hope to see you soon

Best wishes

Graham
