Trips will tentatively be organised on behalf of Club members who wish to participate in the following events.  These trips are open to ALL Club members on a first come, first served basis.  All trips are intended to be both appealing and affordable for the majority of members.  Please contact me in the first instance to register an interest.  Advice on bespoke trips for individuals to any of these events can also be provided.  All enquiries regarding Club Trips should be made to: Nick Clancy (E-mail: arocwm@madasafish.com or Tel: 07712 299565)

46th OLDTIMER GRAND PRIX, Nurburgring, Germany(9th – 14th August)

4 or 5 night trip to Germany (fewer or greater number of nights also possible).

Our accommodation will hopefully be in a small family run hotel in the picturesque medieval town of Bad Munstereifel in the Eifel region of Germany.   A double room costs approximately €100 / night and single room €65 / night (including breakfast).  You are free to choose your own Channel crossing by ferry or Eurotunnel, but early booking is recommended.

For those who wish, there will be an opportunity on Friday afternoon, to take a short drive to the Mosel for some wine tasting.  Saturday and Sunday will be spent at the F1 circuit for the rest of the Oldtimer Grand Prix, which also includes the largest gathering of the year for the German Alfaclub.  There should also be time over the weekend for a lap or two of the Nordschliefe if you are brave enough!  Some people will no doubt want to travel home on Monday, but for those who wish to extend their stay this will be a free day for you to further explore the local area, or maybe travel part of the way back and spend a final night in one of the Belgian Cities (Leuven, Brussels, Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp etc.)

SPETTACOLO SPORTIVO, Zandvoort, Netherlands(22nd – 27th August)

4 or 5 night trip to The Netherlands (fewer or greater number of nights also possible).

In addition to this being the 40th Anniversary year for the Dutch SCARB Club, their Spettacolo Sportivo event will celebrate 50 years of the Berlina model range, together with one or two extra surprises I’ve no doubt!

Preceding the main event, the Dutch SCARB club are once again organising an optional week-long scenic trip (Coppa Spettacolo) for foreign visitors, passing through many typical Dutch landscapes and attractions.

As usual, the AROC trip will be based in the town of Zaandam, just 6 miles north-west of Amsterdam (which is easily accessible via public transport) and around 30 minutes drive to Zandvoort.  Hotel accommodation is offered at the iconic Hotel Inntel (****) with rooms from €117 per night, or at the Zaan Inn (***) with rooms from €90 per night.

Club members will have the option to join either the AROC tour, or the SCARB Coppa Spettacolo tour, or a combination of both!  Information on both tours will be provided to those who register an interest.  Early booking is recommended.

25thannual trip to Ireland– “The Grand Tour” (6th – 21st October 2018)

Two weeks trip to Ireland(fewer or greater number of nights also possible).

For many, this trip has become one of the highlights of the annual calendar of events.  This year, to celebrate our 25th visit to Ireland, the most ambitious itinerary to date is currently being planned.  The Grand Tour of Ireland will last for a full two weeks and cover all coastal areas of the entire country.  This will be very similar to the 20th tour of 2013, but with some additional 2-night stopovers to give participants more breaks from driving if needed.  The full tour will take in most major tourist attractions and scenic locations around the country and a comprehensive Road Book will be provided, giving maps, directions and suggested itineraries for each day.

Whilst priority may be given to those intending to do the full two weeks tour, it should also be possible for some people to do just the first week, or the second week (or even the bit in the middle)!

Full details are yet to be finalised, but all those interested should contact me without delay so that I can better gauge the correct number of rooms to book.  All hotels will be of a good ***or ****standard, some of which will be familiar and others in locations that we have not previously stayed in.

Anyone interested in participating in any of the above trips should contact Nick Clancy as soon as possible for further information.
