Bonello’s Northumbrian Run

North East
25 June 2016

Twenty one people including Brian Horseley from the Yorkshire section turned up for our second Northumbrian Alfa Run.

Organiser, George Eland, showed just what could be achieved with each competitor receiving a cup along with the winners receiving a printed glass plate trophy. From our starting point a few miles west of Newcastle we eventually ended up for a lunch break in a café overlooking Kielder reservoir. We continued on lesser-used roads in the Northumberland National Park area until eventually heading south-east to finish in the Low Lights Tavern in North Shields for a free finishing meal for everyone courtesy of Bonello’s Auto Services. Colin Taylor navigated well enough to receive the winner’s trophies on behalf of himself and driver, Paul Hide, in his Alfa 33.
