From the Club ManagerHello and welcome to my newsletter. I am sure some of you are still working your way through the August edition of the magazine, but just to bring you up to date with the latest Club news and events. Firstly, I would like to announce that The Directors of the Alfa Romeo Owners’ Club have decided that, in appreciation and recognition of the huge contribution made to AROC over many, many years, they have elected Jon Dooley, Ed McDonough & Peter Cabrol as Honorary Life Members of the Club. I am sure you will all agree this is a deserved acknowledgment of gratitude for all their efforts, hard work and time given up for the Club. The next round of the AROC Sprint series is at Croft circuit in Yorkshire on 4th September, sponsored by CTR Alfatune. This really is an affordable and easy way to get your Alfa on track, you don’t need a specially prepared car and race licenses can be purchased on the day. It couldn’t be easier to enter ! All are welcome, so whether you have a road, track or race car then why not give it an outing. For more details please email me or visit the AROC web site. AROC, in conjunction with Easytrack, are running an Alfa Trackday at ‘The Rock’ on Saturday, November 5th on the 2.62 mile layout. The day will be run in 3 sessions for novice, intermediate and experienced groups. Novice session will be for road going cars only and instruction will be available. If you fancy dipping your toe in the water there will also be a limited number of single sessions of 20 mins on track with an instructor. Pre-book prices are £159 for a track space (i.e. 1 car on track through the day), pit garage £26.50 (easy room for 2 cars) second drivers £10.21 and passengers £7.00. Spectators are welcome free of charge and can enjoy access to the paddock and great views of the track. An AROC meeting inside the circuit is being planned. FFor more information and instructions on how to book, please refer to the AROC web site at: www.??? (members only). Finally for now, work has already begun on Spring & National Alfa days for 2012. A number of people have been asking me if dates have been set for these events yet. I expect to be able to confirm dates and venues by mid September, so watch this space. If you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact me. Best wishes Nick Wright
