Thames Valley Christmas dinner and quiz
This year in the Thames Valley, we broke with tradition! Usually we have our annual dinner in January at an Italian restaurant but this year we decided to have a Christmas dinner at our usual pub venue, the Bird in Hand. There were twenty-five Section members in attendance on Tuesday, 3rd December and the venue did a fantastic job of decorating the function room for us. The food was delicious, too.
During pudding, Jonathan Griffin, last year’s winner, started the quiz and there were 30 Alfary questions in total. The winner was Guy Swarbrick with 27 points! In second place after winning the tie-breaker was John Timms. Julian Milne and Mario Guzzetti took third and fourth places respectively. Guy now has the honour of writing next year’s quiz.
