May 2019 Meeting

Wessex
2 May 2019

For our first outdoor meeting of the spring and summer, we held a pub drive out run across the New Forest.   Meeting at Picket Post, a large group of beautiful Alfas gathered in the early evening.   Sadly, the weather proved a little cool so we decided that the first part of the convoy would set off before the allotted departure time, leaving a few hardy individuals to gather up any late arrivals and form the second part of the convoy.

A nice drive ensued for about 18 miles across the beautiful roads of the Forest, eventually arriving at our destination, the Master Builders Hotel at Bucklers Hard.  Bucklers Hard is a beautiful 18th Century Shipbuilding village situated on the Beaulieu River with a Maritime Museum, original cottages and the Master Builders Hotel.  The hotel also has a pub attached and we had a nice allocated area to ourselves to eat, drink and chat.

An enjoyable evening was had, very well supported with a total of 26 individuals and 15 Alfas in attendance.   Many thanks to Stephen and Ruth Paddock for planning the route and organising the pub for us (and for the photos).
