July 2018 Meeting
Our July meeting was our annual Show and Shine fun concours competition. The event was again sponsored by Peter Smart Classic Alfas and this year was held at Peter’s workshop near Milton Abbas. This allowed us to see some of the interesting restoration and repair work going on in the shop.
Ultimately, a total of 26 Alfa Romeos were displayed outside the workshop together with a couple of interlopers in the form of a vintage Aston Martin and a Jaguar XK150.
The Show and Shine competition was judged by myself and Ray Storey. Ray turned up looking very much the part in the style of a Pebble Beach judge with blazer and straw boater. Unfortunately, I failed completely in the style department with merely a borrowed straw hat (thanks Bill !) so, while Ray looked stylish and debonair, I looked anything but ! Anyway, after much consideration, we decided on the following winners who each received a certificate, a trophy and a bottle of Prosecco
