The Scuderia MiTo
Based on a 2013 Alfa Romeo MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde, the Scuderia MiTo car was built at the end of 2018 to compete in the 2019 Alfa Romeo Championship.
The car was built by Davie Peddie of DPMD in Glenrothes, Scotland.
The car was the first MultiAir-engined car in the Championship and competed at Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Snetterton, Mallory Park, Croft and Oulton Park. Testing was undertaken at Knock Hill.
The car also appeared at Motorsport Days LIVE at Silverstone, and the Autosport Show.
It has appeared in static form at Scottish Italian Car Day and two National Alfa Days.
Now owned by Maple House Classic Cars in Scotland, it's used primarily for Track Days and Time Attack events - It competed in the 'Italian Super Battle' in 2025, at Magione Race Circuit in Umbria, Italy.
The Build
The car was completely stripped for the competely custom, first-of-its-kind roll-cage construction by DPMD.
Safety features include a full electrical cut-off kit and OMP extinguisher kids, STR Potenza seat and six-point harness, custom fuel and brake lines, OMP seat rails and steering wheel and Varley Red Top battery system.
The engine is tuned and fitted with hybrid GT1446 turbo, a custom 'twintercooler' system, custom cooling system and exhaust.
The standard 305mm Brembo front brakes were retained but fitted with Tarox F2000 discs front and rear with Ferodo DS3000 Competition pads.
The suspension consists of KW V3 setup coupled with Powerflex Black Series bushes throughout.
Other Features
The car is fitted with 2Forge ZF 8.0 x 17" wheels (plus a spare set).
The car raced on Yokohama A005 N2614 210/610/17. We used twelve tyres in one season.
The car is fitted with Yokohama AD08R 215/45/17 for static shows and whilst in the workshop.
The Quadrifoglio wing badges were replaced with genuine Giulia Quadrifoglio badges.
Successes
Whilst the car raced around the UK with the Alfa Romeo Championship in 2019, a particular highlight was Festival Italia at Brands Hatch.
The MiTo was Runner Up in the Italia vs Rest of the World race, placed 3rd in class in the Power Trophy (competing against V6 Alfas), and our driver, Ben Sharich, was awarded Driver of the Day.
The Virtual Version
The Scuderia MiTo was also modelled in Assetto Corsa to run in the Alfa Romeo Owners Club Virtual Racing Championship.
This was a useful tool for Matt Daly to practice on, before he raced the car at Oulton Park in 2022 as one-off outing.
Today
The Scuderia MiTo car is currently undergoing a 1750TBI conversion, as well as weight reduction wherever possible to reach the goal of 350bhp+ and sub 900kg, making it more competitive in the FWD Turbo Time Attack class.
