Story cloverleaf

The car came into the family in August 2022, belonging originally to my dad. It was bought in Peterborough having done 118k miles at the time, and after test driving the car, it was purchased on finance at around the £4k mark.

It was the 140BHP Veloce 2.0 JTDM -2, in Nero Pastello Black with Grey 225/45/17 turbine wheels and tyres.

As a family that had previously owned an Alfa 147, it was a nice step into the modern Alfa era, and as fans of the brand, me and my dad found ourselves trying to find more information on the car itself.

The usual - it was registered on the 30th September 2011 in Wimbledon with it's PDI being completed by Monza Sports Tuning, of which there are still company cards in the owners book from that time.

From the service history, the car has spent most of its life around the Midlands area, with a lot of work having been done in the Leicestershire area, some having been carried out by Italian car specialists.

After nearly 3 years of reliable running for my dad, at the end of 2024 I turned 17, and as he wanted to get another car, he gave the Alfa to me, as I absolutely adored it, as a massive enthusiast myself.

I learnt to drive throughout 2025 in the car, an absolute dream for me, and I passed my driving test in the car in November 2025, and it was my daily. For a brief period the car was registered under my name, but because of insurance prices it's cheaper for my dad to currently still own the car.

The car at time of writing has 167,960 miles on, so has done nearly 50k miles in the family since August 2022. The car has been all over the country and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere.

It's an absolute dream to have been able to have the car as my first and appreciate why Alfa's are just the best, most soulful cars on the road, even a rugged 2 litre diesel - that I've had 70mpg out of on a run to Brands Hatch from Lincolnshire!

My plans for the car include restoring it gradually to it's best, as it has a series of niggles at the moment, in the name of a boost pipe leak, which I am in the process of repairing, the typical rear loom issue and a missing part of the front grille courtesy of a collision with a pheasant. In the further future, I plan to have the wheels restored and the paint on the passenger side of the car corrected as the paint has chipped away and cracked.

My overall plan is to keep motoring over 200k and keep doing as much work as I can myself (I've just done a service at time of writing) and to enjoy the car as much as possible.
