Purchase Day….. cloverleaf

I purchased the 155 in December 1999, only 1 previous owner.

I was in my local garage having some work done on another car when I noticed a copy of the Adtrader on the table, so I picked the paper up, just flicking through with no intention of buying anything. Then I spot this advert, saw the photo's and phoned them. 4 days later, I was the proud owner of the 155.

Four years old, it was an unwanted Alfa, not good enough to be sold in a car dealer show room, so was privately advertised.

Photo is with my son at the very first car show at Stanford Hall in the summer of 2000.

Phase 2….. cloverleaf

I decided to personalise my 155, by adding a rear spoiler and different alloy's from my previous 155, as a lot of people were doing in the 155 scene.

The alloy's you see in this photo, are now on our 33 Veloce Cloverleaf.

Phase 3… cloverleaf

Unfortunately due to vandalism (mine wasn't the only car) We had to have her resprayed, during this process, we added purple, red and metal flake, plus we slightly tinted the windows all round just using the minimum requirement. Added front wind deflectors, front BTCC splitter and fresh alloy's.

Phase 4… cloverleaf

Finishing off my vision from the year 2000, we added rear wind deflectors, colour coded the front splitter and added cloverleaf side skirts which were also colour coded, now she looks like I wanted her too.

Shows… cloverleaf

We have been so proud to have won several shows, including being invited to the classic NEC Show in November 2019 (yes I hear you squeal at the thought of an Alfa driving through torrential rain, lol, but we were quite lucky, only rained on the way home) we had a fabulous few days, huge honour to have been asked to show her.

Hollywood Film Star lol….. cloverleaf

We were asked if our Alfa could be used in a BBC film, which of course we said yes too. Although my heart dropped when stars were climbing in and out of the boot lol, but they were all very careful.

Our family… cloverleaf

We now have a "Hat Trick", 155, 33 & Giulietta. The 155 has never had any welding done, which is why we cringe if it rains whilst out or at a show. We keep on top of everything so hopefully she will see many many more shows giving others good memories of the touring car scene back in the 1990's.
