History cloverleaf

Alfa Romeo Spider 2000 (S2) 1978 (105 Series)

Delivered as original RH drive into the UK market.

2.0 litre with twin overhead cam engine.

Solex Twin 40 Carburretors.

Limited slip differential.

Five speed gearbox with synchromesh on all gears and controlled by hydraulic clutch (floor mounted pedals)

Brake discs and pads on all four corners with split brake system including two servos.

Runs on unleaded petrol from new and no requirement for additives in petrol.

Seat in back is a buddy seat, so car is only certified for two passengers.

I purchased this car from a specialist, Ian Ellis in Sussex in 2013.  The car was in very good condition as had belonged to one of Ian's clients.

Since owning the Spider, I have improved the interior, detailed the engine bay and then in 2022, the car was given new sills, front valance, wheelarch repairs and painted in the original silver.

Wayne Ellet from EMC racing has been looking after my cars since 2005, and he organised the restoration using his colleague Roy for structure / welding and then Pete for the full respray.  They also made various repairs to overcome problems applied when the car was restored twice in its past history.

The spider is only used between March and October and is garaged the rest of the time.

The car is standard apart from the chrome / stainless steel windscreen wipers (should be black), 123 electronic ignition and the map light which is aftermarket.

I visit most of the Alfa Romeo (Surrey) club meets, Black Swan breakfast meet in Cobham and then various Italian events around Surrey and Hampshire.

Thank you for reading.
