Hi all, my name is Oliver, and thank you for taking in interest in this MiTo, my 2011 1.4 N/A bit of Italian craftmanship.
As of right now, my MiTo is just a stock car, other than a different head unit which was replaced when I bought it (June 2023). Since buying it, my efforts have been focused on getting this MiTo as mechanically sound as I feasibly can, however I feel that now I can move towards starting on some modifications.
Mechanical Work
3 Sensors!?
Yep, since my ownership from June 2023, my MiTo has had 3 sensors replaced! The 1st sensor was the gear position sensor, which had to be replaced by the mechanics, a bit too far for my mechanical skills! Shortly after, an O2 sensor decided it had enough (although that seems fair enough after 13 years in exhaust gasses), this was an easy replacement. A few months beyond this, the new gear sensor also gave up, but thankfully it was still under warranty so it was replaced for free, it just meant a day spent at the mechanics for the MiTo.
Simple oil change...?
Although this was my first time servicing a car, I thought that even my basic mechanical knowledge would be able to manage, especially after I had replaced the spark plugs & the air filter myself. However, my first mistake was forgetting to open the breather on my oil pan (it’s enclosed), which resulted in oil all over the floor as I tried and managed just a bit too late to open it up!

Scottish Italian Car Day 24
Despite the weather (which was very Scottish), I took the MiTo on a 3hr journey to the beautiful Hopetoun House. It was an incredible day out, seeing some fantastic Alfa's, everything from a very well modified 159 to a stunning Giulia Super parked next to my MiTo. My favourite Alfa of the day was the Alfetta GTV6 in silver, my absolute dream car, one day I will have the funds! Anyway, other cars such as Maserati's & Ferrari's were on show, reinforcing my love for Italian cars!
The MiTo took the full journey there and back in it's stride, and provided great fun down the A696 even considering the weather. After all, every single MiTo loves a great day out! The only unfortunate event of the day was on the return journey, when I was 2 minutes from home and I hit a pothole so big the hazards went off! Very thankfully, the only action required was a press of the hazards button!
What a fantastic day!
