Project Monty
Aquired in early 2024 as an investment in fun. This is my first Alfa and I'll be working on it in conjuntion with Majestic Motors who I've known in many guiese for a few years now. The aim of the project is to build a nice usable road car that is capable of a gentle track day from time to time. Monty's condition at the start of 2024 was solid but in need of some TLC. He has no body rot other than cosmetic surface corrotion, a strong engine and an MOT'd driver. Suspension was questionable and just generally looking tired.

Dyno baseline
At the start of 2024 Monty was dyno'd to establish a baseline. 100 HP on a 50k stock engine was a nice result.
Strip Down
Q1 2024 was basically spent removing the engine, running gear, suspension, steering, brakes and clearing the engine bay.
This gave good access to the underside and engine bay to repair and protect it.

Underbody protection
Most spare fridays in summer 2024 were spent scraping loose rust and underseal off, repairing holes, treating rust and protecting the underside with epoxy mastic.

Turning a corner
October 2024 finally felt like turning a corner. All of the suspension components were back from e-coating and powder coating. New parts joined the mix to start the assembly of the front corners ready to fit back on the car.
Meanwhile the engine bay got a coat of paint to tidy it up, but also make the body look pretty tired :|
