It should look somthing like this
This is what it looks like now
A lot of pictures will be of the restoration that started in 2011,
I first saw an ss about 20 years ago and fell in love with the shape so when this car came up I was very interested, I drove to Sheffield to view it but it was so rotten I said not for me, no matter where you looked you could still see your feet, after a week of nagging thoughts I called the owner and said itss been a week since I saw the car and at this point in time I've forgotten exactly how bad it is? Let's talk money, a deal was done and the work commenced.
This is what I started with
This is the car shortly after I bought it, I bought it as a part restored project. perhaps in the 1980's all the paint was removed, body filler and primer coated, in the late 80's early 90's it was parked under a tarpaulin outside a garage until I bought it at the end of 2010. This allowed bad rust causing rust holes everywhere.
I have since discovered after it first fell by the wayside it was swapped for a renault delphine, then swapped for a hillman hunter engine, obviously no value to it back then?
I have literally had to make the entire car from scratch
Interior
Cobwebs and mice nests as found 2010
Under restoration
My daughter, drives her own car now
Front end
The rotisserie was temporarily cut off to make the front end by eye
The roof
Lots of holes
Engine
The engine was fitted to the painted engine bay
Interior
Most of the interior was badly damaged or missing altogether, I ended up making mirror image panels and then altered to fit
Interior
The original red vinyl was replaced with leather, being slightly thicker it needed a fair bit of tweaking
Enjoyment time
Upto date , time for photo shoots and drive outs, along with some fettling along the way?
