2021: MK1 Alfetta saloon imported from Naples Italy. cloverleaf

Hear is the start of my 1976 MK1 Alfetta Saloon race car project that has been built to race in the CSCC Swinging sixties Group 2 championship.

The Alfetta was brought by me in 2021 and had been brought over to the UK From Naples Italy.

From what we know the car had been owned from new by the former Italian owner, before the previous UK based owner had been able to purchase the car from the family after the husband had sadly passed away.

When we first saw the car it had been taken back to start restoring.

When we brought the car the car was at 54813 miles the car had all original floors and seals and required three main point off Welding work done the two corners of the rear screen and the bottom of the OSF Door.

We decided to build the car as a historic race car to race in the swinging sixties series.

2023 2.0L Nord Full Race Engine Installed. cloverleaf

The Alfetta has a full race 2L engine fitted on 45mm Delorto carbs and a Original GTA Air box fitted (we do still have the original 1600cc engine from the car)

  • 123 electronic ignition system
  • Flame thrower 3 ohme coil
  • Classic Alfa Race ignition lead set
  • Classic Alfa 13 row mocal oil cooler system

2023 Final Assembly cloverleaf

The cooling system has been upgraded to have a RS500 alloy radiator and twin electric Cooling fans and runs on Evans waterless coolant and a alloy race header tank.

The suspension has been upgraded to run 75 twin spark front suspension arms and hubs and rear A frame the A frame has an adjustable wats linkage and rose jointed front mount. The car has an adjustable torsion bar beam and gtv6 torsion bars. And CSR adjustable rear springs and platforms. The front has a double race anti roll bar and rose jointed drop links.

The gearbox is a 75 twin spark box with LSD fully rebuilt with new bearings and synchro's And the clutch had been lightened and balanced the clutch cover has been modified with a front bearing support cage

The Brakes have been upgraded to run 75 Brembo callipers on the front and 105 series spider rear callipers and Carbon Lorraine pads all round system has a brake bias valve and hydraulic handbrake and runs on race brake fluid.

The Interior still has the standard dash door cards and head lining with a full FIA bolt in roll cage and bucket seats and 6 point harnesses full plumed in fire extinguisher system and interior battery box.
