Stelvio (Type 949) 2016 - Current

We love our Stelvio which we bought new in September 2020 frim our local dealer, Vospers in Exeter.

Eagle eyed readers will recognise that was only 6 months on from when Covid had lockdown started, a very strange period in all our lives.

We needed or maybe wanted another SUV, yes I know they're not everybody's favourite, but a good one can be really useful.

So we tried the usual suspects like BMW, Audi etc and found them all a bit corporate or even dull. So being a great car enthusiast decided we should look at the Alfa. And that was how it came to be.

At the time of writing,  3 and a half years and 30000+ miles on, it's still a great drive, even if it is a 2.2 diesel. In sports mode it handles nearly as well as the Giulia it's based on.

The slightly sad thing is Alfa seem obsessed with EVs which is a great shame as they are just not for us and, dare I say it, a very flawed concept of car propulsion! Imo...
