UNDERTRAY
I've cut the undertray and left the strength in it to stop it from contacting the front subframe but still covering and protecting the air box and washer bottle in the wheel arches .

HISTORY
I bought Alf in June 2023 with 97,620 miles on the clock .
He was a little unloved and I've been constantly improving him as I go along .
So far I've fitted new springs , shocks and drop links to the rear suspension , he's had a new top wishbone and wheel bearing on the front .
I've spent numerous hours fiddling and fettling the driver's door window and door card to correct previous bodges and breakages . Everywhere I go on the interior trim to do whatever job there are always screws or clips missing or broken off !
I had to solve a problem with the hood on the very first day of ownership , it transpired that the 'garage' that I bought him from had pulled the roof hydraulic release in an attempt to open the boot due to a flat battery . So out came everything from the boot and most of the interior trim , climb into the spare wheel well to access the release lever and pull it all the way backwards ( nearly horizontal ) , bingo...a working roof...sort of ! It worked but came 'unlatched' if I hit a bump , more research and the simple fitting of four new struts later it now works perfectly .

HANDBRAKE
The handbrake lever had been noted as having sideways movement on old MOT's , on investigation I could see both mounting bolts loose , but they were not easy to get at ! While I was there I decided that I might as well change the handbrake cables as the nearside was sticking if the car was stood for a week or two with the handbrake applied and the cables were obviously originals . Oh joy ! I had to strip out half the interior , including the seats , to gain access to all the fixings . After all that I think the caliper is sticking , but the cables needed changing anyway , hey ho .
