GTV Spider (Type 916) 1995 - 2004

Purchased in July 2023 as a project, the car was in a poor cosmetic but reasonable mechanical condition with 4 months MOT.  I put it in for the test 3 weeks before it was due, fully expecting a long list of repairs, it did fail  but only on 3 small bits of welding (2 on the sill and 1 in the boot floor) a leaking shock absorber and a broken spring and an advisory that the rear brake pads were getting low. 

Since purchasing the car it has been used most weekends for club meets or just drives out including a trip out for lunch at a local resturant for Christmas day lunch. I had always intended to get the car to a reasonably, useable condition and so far have mainly concentrated on tidying up the interior. I've polished  the paintwork up as best as I can but it is showing its age with several flat and faded areas. I've tried to use good used parts in keeping with the cars age where possible, I didn't want to go down the full restoration route, but have used new parts for anything safety or structurally related.
