History cloverleaf

This is my 2.2 JTS Brera Prodrive #316 of 500. I acquired it in May 2023. There was little to no service history on the car it had a photocopy of the service book with services in 2011, 2012, 2014 & 2015 but the chap selling it was a "driveway" mechanic who saved it from the scrappers and had already done few things to it, new springs, new dampers both to Prodrive standards, and subframes had been sorted out. The renowned M32 gearbox had been fixed so hopefully no whining. It had a respray and it's no longer Rosso Red, you can't tell in the pictures but it's now Rosso Competizione. It was a good price for what the Prodrive Brera was going for and I thought I wouldn't have to spend too much money on it since all the major things had been fixed, hmm how wrong was I?

Problems cloverleaf

Since owning the car, it's had a new battery, I had to have a new coil pack as when I took it for a service we found the nuts had been overtightened so the only way to get the cover off was to cut through the coil pack, hopefully, that shouldn't happen again.

It's had every common problem that you can think of:

Wet driver's seat belt, sagging headliner, drooping passenger sun shade, fogging of the rear lights, leaking power steering pipe, rubbing on the bonnet from the driver-side wiper, oh and the biggest one a smell of petrol, which is now sorted thanks to MVC after it worked out the problem was a leaky fuel pump which they have now fitted a new one.

What have I done cloverleaf

So I have spent about £3.5K on it including any servicing, servicing parts, new parts etc here is a list

  • Headliner cut out so you get the benefit of the panoramic roof
  • Ambient lighting installed
  • Added all the badges back on except for the S as they were all missing
  • Added the Prodrive front mudflaps
  • 5-year ceramic-coated
  • LED Side indicators
  • Easilft gas struts to the boot so it opens fully
  • New rear Alfa badge

Conclusion cloverleaf

This is my first Alfa Romeo, do I love it of course it's one of the best cars I have owned, in a sea of SUV's the car stands out it's a beautiful design. I've taken it to quite a few shows and people always comment on the colour. I tend to keep my cars a long time and I hope that this lasts me for at least the next 7 years or more.
