History cloverleaf

**** Under Construction ******

Originally purchased through Milan Motor Ltd, Hong Kong by American Civil Engineer Guy Harden. Guy had good taste in vehicles owning a Delahaye, Daimler and Lancia which burned out, resulting in the Alfa purchase. The Hong Kong registration number was 1066!

Upon retirement in 1978 Alfa came with him to the UK, fortunately Hong Kong cars are RHD. No import or purchase due as long as it was retained until June 1980. A new registration TPX 669T, correct for 1978 was issued and the car kept at The Manor House, Bosham.

In 1989 Guy passed away and the Alfa was gifted to Peter Corbett-Wilson, who worked for the family and helped maintain the car.

*** there is a gap in the history here, if anyone can help with information or photos that would be appreciated.***

Apparently it was stored for some time in an underground garage in London. Then offered on ebay in the early 2000s and purchased by a David Cook with the intention of rebuilding it as a long distance rally car. Jim Evans restored the mechanicals while others carried out the work to convert to a competition car ie. engine, gearbox,  axle and brakes, and then extra lights, roll cage. The body was in excellent condition and did not need any work.

After all this work the owner did not use the car for the intended purpose and offered it back to Jin Evans  around 2015. Jim intended to convert it back to original road biased spec as all the original parts had been retained by Mr Cook. However due to work constraints Jim never got around to doing this work.

In 2017 Jim Evan was carrying out work for a significant collector, who found out about the car and decided to have it. He then had it built to an ideal touring specification, with a high specification 1.6 engine. At this point the original green of was changed to blue and the period correct registration of HNB 105D applied.

The car was ready in 2017, the collector arranged for further improvements and the car spent time at Jim Stokes Workshops and Alfaholics. The car was used in some rallies including the Paris Amsterdam in 2028.

Late 2018 to July 2019 to car went to DTR Engineering for a major overall including, engine, gearbox and drivetrain rebuild. All suspension, brakes, fuel tank and lines renewed, full carburettor refurbishment plus another repaint.

The car then passed to another collector and came in to my onwership in 2022. I have made some minor electrical improvements and fitted a period radio. An Alfaholics exhaust has further improved performance and wider GTA wheels have transformed the handling.
