April Monthly News Letter
Hi All
I trust you are well
RIGHT, HELMINGHAM FINAL CALL!
If you want to come I need to know by Wednesday 7th April.
Helmingham is a great event, £12 admits, car, a driver and one passenger. You’ll need to be parked from 9am till nearly 4pm but there is a lovely garden, sculpture trail, food, bands, a bit of retail as well as 1200 classics to wander round! I have to bulk buy our stand tickets in the first few days of April, so I need funds as soon as possible. Get in touch if you’ve not paid yet.
Also, I have one slot available for Culford so if you’re free on the 12th of July and would like to come along do let me know!
The March Monthly
This was our first visit to The Angel as a club, and we were made to feel very welcome. Hearty portions and a large carpark has definitely put this venue on the repeat visits shortlist.
As you’d expect conversation gravitated towards all things Alfa and motoring. The current lottery of fuel prices throughout the section and their lucky dip pricing, what it’s like to live with a new Junior and the various versions of the 156 Sportpack. The sun is definitely making more of an appearance even if it was only 12°. We managed a quite respectable 16 participants this month. Next full section event is the Cars and Coffee at the Pike and Ell on the 11th April

Got some time on your hands and fancy a project?
Here is Tony, who has too many cars and projects so is selling his trusty 156
“I’m looking for a new home for my 2002 Alfa 156 2.4 10v Sportwagon. I’ve had this car for around 6 years and covered around 80k in that time. Its be a combination of my AROC car and daily so it’s well known within the East Anglia Section.
Good bits – belts were done late 2024, both driveshafts replaced last year, replaced and injector last year, clutch replaced about 4 years ago and a new master cylinder put on just last week. The car is regularly serviced and currently has fitted a ram air filter (still on original piping so can be put back if wanted) This would have been a top spec car at the time. Cd changer (currently have Bluetooth in the glovebox) Bose system with sub, HID headlights, cruise control and ISOFIX rear seats. A real rarity on the 156. Fuel economy wise I comfortably average around 600 miles to a tank. I have a selection of parts in the boot to go with the car including spare ecu, sump, roof bars, driveshafts etc.
Bad bits – essentially it’s the MOT failure. Some sill welding is needed but it’s nothing major. (check photos on AROC EA site here ) Some pretty standard 156 advisories like upper wishbone ( feel free to look up reg online ) . The mileage (214k) may put some people off, but the car has been very reliable, and it’s never let me down. There is an oil leak from the sump, but the car does come with a replacement. With the car being red is does have some peel on the doors.
Price wise without an MOT for somebody who isn’t going to break the car I’d like around £750. That way any work needed would give the new owner a great car for very little money. I’m open to sensible offers. Based in Cambridgeshire. The reason for the sale is purely down to having a practical daily replacing the 156 that has the space I need with a newborn a large dog and my wife being made disabled last year. Feel free to pm me any questions. This is a reluctant sale so please bare that in mine with lowball offers.”

I hope to see you all soon!
