Wessex Section invitation to join them … this week

 

November meeting is Wednesday 12th November 7.30pm …….please arrive for 7.30 to allow time to get a beer.

 

Our guest Speaker is Jon Dooley who started racing back in 1965 and concentrated on driving Alfa Romeo saloon cars. He was a Alfa GB team driver and competed in the British Saloon car championship in the 1970’s.

 

Jon knowledge of all things AR is astonishing and his knowledge of Italian racing. I believe his father was a founder member of AROC and indeed Jon’s membership number is 115. Jon will speak to us about his racing, car preparation and the cars he has driven. You’ll have read his regular articles in ‘The Driver’, his account of competing on the 2014 Historic Monte Carlo rally and why relying on satnav is dangerous !

VENUE THE SIR WALTER TYRELL at Brook near Cadnam SO43 7HD. If coming from Bournemouth easiest is 2nd country turning ( on the left ! ) coming across the A31 ( New Forest ) before descending to Cadnam and the M27 junc 1. Cross the cattle grid – pub ½ mile on the right. Coming from Southampton – come off the M27 at junction 1. ¾ way around roundabout – Bramshaw/Brook, pass the Green Dragon & Bell Inn take next left (country lane ) very twisty keep going at least a mile and the pub is on your left. If in doubt – take a look at a map.
