Could you help run AROC?

Club Manager Vacancy

After an extraordinary 15 years as our Club Manager, Nick Wright will be stepping back from many of his current responsibilities from the end of 2026, creating a vacancy that could suit you.

Many members will know that Nick has been undergoing treatment for cancer. Thankfully, his condition remains stable, but understandably he now aims to reduce the considerable workload he has carried for the Club for so many years. Nick will continue to look after our membership administration, but will relinquish much of the wider Club Manager role, including his responsibilities as Club Treasurer.

There will, of course, be a proper time to recognise and celebrate Nick’s remarkable contribution to AROC. This isn’t that moment because he isn’t going anywhere just yet! But it would be impossible to talk about finding someone to take on these responsibilities without acknowledging just how much Nick has done, often quietly behind the scenes, to keep the Club running every single day

Could this be you?

We are therefore inviting expressions of interest from members, or people known to members, who might be interested in taking on this important role.

This is not a conventional volunteer position. It is a substantial role requiring effectively full-time availability and involves the day-to-day operation of a busy national car club, including:

  • Administration and correspondence
  • Supporting our publications and events
  • Working with Sections and Registers
  • Liaising with suppliers, sponsors and Alfa Romeo
  • Managing the Club’s day-to-day finances and Treasurer activities

You would work closely with the Board, Management Team and our network of volunteers across the country.

The successful person will provide these services to the Club on a contracted, paid-for basis, invoicing AROC monthly through their own business or limited company and being responsible for their own company and personal taxation.  The Club does not employ anyone in the traditional sense, so you would become one of our key service providers.

We would like to hear from people who believe they have the experience, organisational ability and enthusiasm to make a success of the role and, importantly, who would relish the opportunity to play such a central part in the future of AROC.

Apply Now

If this role appeals to you and you feel your skills and experience make you a great fit for the Club, please send us a written Expression of Interest, answering the following four questions:

  • What interests you about taking on this role with AROC?
  • What experience and skills would you bring that would make you well suited to managing the day-to-day operation and finances of the Club?
  • What experience do you have of Alfa Romeo, AROC, car clubs or other membership/voluntary organisations?
  • How would this substantial, full-time commitment fit with your current circumstances and other responsibilities?

Please also attach a current CV or a brief summary of your relevant career and experience.

Expressions of Interest should be sent to vacancies@aroc-uk.com by no later than 15th November 2026 and ideally sooner. All submissions will be treated in confidence.

This is a rare opportunity to take on a role right at the heart of AROC, helping us look after the Club today while playing an important part in shaping what it becomes next.
