Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale Perla Nera
Alfa Romeo has unveiled a one-off version of its new 33 Stradale at the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese – the dramatic, all-black “Perla Nera”.
The name, meaning “Black Pearl”, was chosen and officially registered by the car’s owner, a passionate Alfa Romeo collector who worked closely with Alfa Romeo Centro Stile to create a genuinely bespoke interpretation of the limited-production supercar.
Just 33 examples of the modern 33 Stradale are being produced, but Perla Nera is unique even within that exceptionally exclusive group. It is the only example to feature a completely exposed, matt-finish carbon-fibre body, with the material itself becoming a major part of the car’s visual design.
Rather than simply applying conventional carbon-fibre panels, considerable attention has been given to the direction and alignment of the weave. The fibres were laid by hand in the moulds, following the contours of the body and emphasising the 33 Stradale’s shape and symmetry. On the bonnet, the carbon highlights the familiar Alfa Romeo V shape, while a herringbone pattern continues across the roof towards the rear of the car.
The uncompromising black treatment continues with unique all-black wheels and the removal of virtually all exterior badging. Only the Alfa Romeo emblems remain, leaving the exposed carbon weave to dominate the appearance.
Inside, the same theme continues through a combination of carbon fibre and black Alcantara. The owner was closely involved in the development of the cabin, including a specially redesigned sports seat tailored through individual fitting sessions. Alfa Romeo’s traditional “cannelloni” upholstery pattern has also been reinterpreted and carried through onto the door panels and side sills.
Other unique details include redesigned headrests with carbon-fibre Perla Nera inserts, a personalised Alfa rotary selector engraved with the owner’s initials and a bespoke set of black Alcantara luggage carrying the car’s individual production number. Quadrifoglio and Autodelta symbols provide a more discreet link with Alfa Romeo’s competition heritage.
Underneath the unique finish remains the formidable mechanical specification of the new 33 Stradale. Its 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 produces more than 630hp, driving the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Alfa Romeo quotes a top speed of 333km/h (207mph) and 0–100km/h in under three seconds. An aluminium H-frame chassis and carbon-fibre monocoque provide the structural foundations.
The new 33 Stradale was the first project to emerge from Bottega Alfa Romeo, now part of BOTTEGAFUORISERIE, the specialist operation bringing together bespoke and highly personalised projects from Alfa Romeo and Maserati. The Perla Nera perhaps demonstrates the idea at its most extreme: rather than choosing from a conventional list of colours and options, its owner has been involved directly in creating a car intended never to be repeated.
For those fortunate enough to be heading to Milan, there is also a rare opportunity to see it in person. The 33 Stradale Perla Nera will remain on display at the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese until 18th October 2026.
