We are delighted to be hosting our Spring Alfa Day at the fabulous Arley Hall & Gardens nr Northwich, Cheshire on Sunday 27th April 2025 from 10.00 hrs, by order of the Peaky Blinders!
The Venue
Arley has been a much-loved family home since the fifteenth century, since then the estate has been in the continuous ownership of the same family. The location may be familiar to you as the home of Thomas Shelby in the TV show Peaky Blinders! But the venue has also been used for the filming of Gardener’s World, Fool Me Once, Coronation Street, Hollyoaks and many other TV productions.
It is currently home to Lord & Lady Ashbrook. With over 15 acres of gardens, café, gift shop and children’s’ play area. The hall is one of the most interesting and attractive stately homes in the North West. Entry to Spring Alfa Day includes entry to the gardens but please be aware that the hall is open to the public for a few days each month, and will not be open for our visit.
Dogs are welcome in all areas of the formal gardens, and in the informal gardens of the Grove and Woodland Walk. They can enjoy a well-earned rest in the café and can even pick up a doggy related souvenir in the Gift Shop. Please note that dogs are not permitted in the Children’s Playzone. You can find water bowls and poo bins around the estate and ask that you are considerate and pick up any mess and either dispose of it in the dog bins around the estate or take it home with you.
The Gardens
Amongst the finest in Europe the Gardens have been created over the last 270 years by successive generations of the same family. As a result they offer an unusual blend of long history and traditional design with inspired modern ideas and additions. As a result the garden is rich in atmosphere, interest and vitality.
PlayZone and Picnic Area
Children and families are very welcome at Arley, there is plenty room for outdoor fun in our PlayZone.
Children can enjoy zooming along the zip wire, build castles in the sandpit and play on the swings and slides. There is space to kick a ball and have an adventure in our willow domes!
After playtime there’s our picnic area which is perfect for lunch.
