June 2024 Meeting
For our June meeting, as a change from our normal Wednesday evening meetings, we held another “Giro Panoramico” driving day on Sunday, June 9th. This was ably planned and led by Mark and Carol Gardiner.
We met in the salubrious surroundings of Morrisons car park in Totton before setting off on a thirteen car convoy run through the very attractive countryside of the Test Valley, passing through Dunbridge, Broughton, Stockbridge and Longparish, and eventually arriving at Whitchurch. After a break in Whitchurch, we turned south east and headed back through Kings Somborne and Mottisfont to arrive at the Bear and Ragged Staff pub, a total drive of just under 60 miles. We were fortunate with the weather which was sunny for pretty much the entire drive.
At the pub, we were joined by a number of other Wessex members who had not done the drive and we all enjoyed a very nice Sunday lunch.
A number of new members joined us on the Giro, Jerry and Anne Kennard in their Alfasud Sprint, Alan and Denise Bursey in their 939 Spider and Larry Robinson and son, Olly, in their Giulia Veloce. To all, we offer a warm welcome.
