Thames Valley guest speaker on Le Mans Classic!
During our regular pub meet at the Bird in Hand pub on Tuesday, 7th November, one of our Section members, Alan Parkes, kindly offered to talk to us about his trip to Le Mans Classic during their Centenary this year.
Alan was lucky enough to have a grandstand seat and a Paddock pass to the Le Mans event and he talked to us about travelling there and about the various grids for the different vintages of cars. Apparently, there were a lot of beautiful Bentleys but also a few Alfas, including a 6C 3000CM!
We were treated to lots of photos and videos of the event which were really nicely done. Alan gave us information about the circuit itself and the programme of events for the Centenary. As well as a great deal of “proper” racing (albeit a bit more gently than usual, given the value of the cars), there were kids racing events, car club stands and live music!
There was lots of enthusiasm for a Section visit to Le Mans in 2025 too so watch this space.
