September 2019 Meeting
Our September meeting was the last of our midweek outside meetings and next month we will return to our winter pub based meetings. For this last outdoor meeting, David Duckenfield and Tracey Culver organised an evening pub drive out. A group of beautiful Alfas gathered at Rockford Common car park on the edge of the New Forest. After a few minutes waiting for latecomers and making friends with the local donkeys, we set off on a circuitous drive of some 27 miles through the Forest. On a beautiful late summer’s evening, the sun shone and really showed the Forest in its best light. Having picked up an addition to the convoy en route we eventually arrived at the Amberwood Inn in Walkford. There we were met by more of our section members and we enjoyed a nice meal in the pub accompanied by good conversation and camaraderie. Many thanks to David and Tracey for arranging the evening.
The one mystery of the evening was the unknown gentleman in the yellow 4C that was at the pub when we arrived. A couple of us spoke briefly to him and learned that his is a member of the club but he left before we could establish his name and provide a proper welcome to the Wessex Section. So, if you are the proud owner of the yellow 4C and are reading this, please get in contact via the contact details on the Wessex home page !
