October 2024 Meeting

Wessex
3 October 2024

For our first indoor meeting of the autumn, we returned to Pamphill Hall, an interesting old wooden building with a skittle alley near Kingston Lacy.  This is normally a summer venue where we have a BBQ but, this year, our resident chefs, Ian and Joanne Brookfield, planned an excellent Indian meal indoors giving us the opportunity to hold the event later in the year.  An excellent turnout of 25 individuals enjoyed a delicious meal of chicken and vegetable curries served with all the normal Indian accompaniments.

We welcomed new members, Darren Humphrys and David Harris Wellings who came along in their 159 and 147 respectively.

After the meal, we moved to the skittle alley where a lengthy knockout tournament of “Killer” ensued with the number or participants slowly reducing to eventually produce a winner.   Congratulations to our winner, Ruth Paddock, who just pipped Peter Smart and won herself a bottle of Prosecco !

Thank you to everyone who came along and, in particular, many thanks to Ian and Joanne for the excellent food.
