June Monthly News Letter
Hi All
I trust you are all well.
Coming up in June we have:
Thursday 22nd June The Rising Sun, 7pm, 26 Wroxham Road, Coltishall, Norfolk, NR12 7EA
Our monthly get together for a pie and a pint, a bit further north and east this time to pick up section members in that part of the world. I look forward to seeing you there!
Sunday 25th June, Norfolk Drive 10am, start from Jimmy’s, Abbey Road, Old Buckenham, NR17 1PU, finish point, The Lighthouse Café, Lighthouse Cl, Hunstanton, Norfolk, PE36 6EL
Our man of the maps, Malcom, has worked his magic on another route from A to B. He always find some great driving roads! Navigation is via tulip roadbook (not as scary as it sounds) and great fun. Let me know if you plan to come so we can print enough roadbooks.
Early in May we met with the Essex section for Fish and Chips at Dunwich, sadly the biting east wind meant the 30 plus attendees got a bit scattered and eating was an indoor affair! But outside was a great line up of cars, see attached photo. Sadly I couldn’t make the event but a good selection of cars across the ages from the early 80’s right up the Tonale, with two Tonale ( I have no idea what the plural of Tonale is!) in attendance, it’s good to see members starting to embrace the latest model alongside the classics in attendance
Last week 13 of us met up at the Old Ram at Tivetshall just south of Norwich, nice to meet some new faces too! We were as ever well looked after with good food and beers on offer and an area to ourselves. Plenty of parking too! Photos on the section Facebook page!

Now is the time to let me know about coming to Helmingham and Kimbolton! If you haven’t already!
IMPORTANT STUFF, SEE BELOW!
I have booked a stand for 35 cars for Kimbolton and 30 for Helmingham. A number of events seem to be changing their booking systems. Kimbolton wants you all to book online, but then you have to tell me you’re coming, then I have to confirm the number going, and book a space big enough! (Comment has been made re last year’s stand being undersize!) Tickets are available now, but remember to tell me you’ve booked so I can book your slot on the stand. See Below:
Sunday 16th July Kimbolton Country Fayre 10am-4pm, Kimbolton Castle, Huntingdon, Cambs. PE28 0EA
Club members can book here:
https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/kimbolton-castle-rotary-club
Members will need to use the following code to access club stand tickets: KCFCCS2023
Club members can book in advance to access the early bird price of £13.50 until 18th June 2023. But do let me know!
Futher ahead!
Helmingham and Glemham I will have to book as a block so let me know which you want to go to, the Oaksmere which is on the same day as Glemham will be a come and go as you please relaxed event. Keep letting me know which one of these three you want to attend. The Oaksmere is looking to be the ‘Official’ section event judging by the response so far.
Sunday 6th August, 9am till 4pm Helmingham Hall Festival of Classic and Sports Cars, Helmingham Hall, Helmingham Estate, Stowmarket IP14 6EF, Contact me to book a space on the stand.
We have three events on the same day, we are of course free to go to all, but do we need to pick one as the ‘prime’ section event, do let me know your thoughts!
Sunday 3rd September, Southern Alfa Day, The Historic Dockyard, Chatham, Kent. ME4 4TZ
Sunday 3rd September, Italian Car and Bike Day, The Oaksmere, Eye, Suffolk, IP23 8AJ This will be the ‘official’ section event! They are promising a bigger and better event. It will be good to be amongst like-minded Italian car owners! Its proving the most popular choice so far.
Sunday 3rd September, Classics at Glemham. Little Glemham, Suffolk, IP13 0BT,
Don’t Book Via Their Website!! This year they have moved to the Helmingham format of me having to buy all the tickets, in one go. So that if you want to go, do let me know and tenner up front!!
I hope to see you soon
Best wishes
Graham
