Despite some uncertainty surrounding the effects of BREXIT, trips will still be organised on behalf of Club members who wish to participate in the following events.  These trips are open to ALL Club members on a first come, first served basis.  All trips are intended to be both appealing and affordable for the majority of members.  Please contact me in the first instance to register an interest.  Advice on bespoke trips for individuals to any of these events can also be provided.  All enquiries regarding Club Trips should be made to: Nick Clancy (E-mail: arocwm@madasafish.com or Tel: 07712 299565)

48th OLDTIMER GRAND PRIX, Nurburgring, Germany (6th – 11th August)

4 or 5 night trip to Germany (fewer or greater number of nights also possible).
Accommodation will be in one of two small family run hotels in the picturesque medieval town of Bad Munstereifel in the Eifel region of Germany.   A double room will cost approximately €100 / night and single room €65 / night (including breakfast).  You are free to choose your own Channel crossing by ferry or Eurotunnel, but early booking is recommended.

This year, the organisers have reinstated the Classic Marathon race on the Nordschleife for the Friday.  For those who wish, there will also be an opportunity on Friday afternoon, to take a short drive to the Mosel for some wine tasting.  Saturday and Sunday will be spent at the F1 circuit for the Oldtimer Grand Prix, which also includes the largest gathering of the year for the German Alfaclub.  One of the highlights will be the recreation of the 1961 F1 German Grand Prix.  There should also be time over the weekend for a lap or two of the Nordschleife if you are brave enough!  Some people will no doubt want to travel home on Monday, but for those who wish to extend their stay this will be a free day for you to further explore the local area, or maybe travel part of the way back and spend a final night in one of the Belgian Cities (Leuven, Brussels, Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp etc.).

SPETTACOLO SPORTIVO, Zandvoort, Netherlands (17th – 22nd September) – CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19

4 or 5 night trip to The Netherlands (fewer or greater number of nights also possible).

This year, the Dutch SCARB Club will be celebrating 90 years of the legendary Italian coach-building firm Pininfarina, which, of course, has had a long association with Alfa Romeo.   The Spettacolo Sportivo will also celebrate 25 years of the Alfa 916 GTV and Spider model ranges.  Although not yet confirmed, it is likely that preceding the main event, the Dutch SCARB club will once again organise an optional week-long scenic trip (Coppa Spettacolo) for foreign visitors, passing through many typical Dutch landscapes and attractions.

As usual, the AROC trip will be based in the town of Zaandam, just 6 miles north-west of Amsterdam (which is easily accessible via public transport) and around 30 minutes drive to Zandvoort.  Accommodation will be offered in one of three hotels in Zaandam, including the iconic Hotel Inntel (****).

Club members will have the option to join either the AROC tour, or the SCARB Coppa Spettacolo tour, or a combination of both!  Information on both tours will be provided to those who register an interest.  Early booking is recommended.

27th annual trip to Ireland (8th – 13th  October 2020)

5 night trip to Ireland (fewer or greater number of nights also possible).

For many, this trip has become one of the highlights of the annual calendar of events.
This year, we shall be basing ourselves in the medieval City of Kilkenny.  Apart from all of the attractions in the City itself, this location is very convenient for visiting many other places in the “Viking Triangle” and the wider South-East corner of Ireland.
Our accommodation will be in a centrally located hotel.  Ferry crossings will be available from either Holyhead – Dublin, or Pembroke – Rosslare, with onward travel from either port of disembarkation being just a little over 1 hour.  Early booking is recommended as space is limited.

Anyone interested in participating in any of the above trips should contact Nick Clancy as soon as possible for further information.
