AROC at Festival Italia 2024
Another edition of this popular annual event for all of those of us who are not just petrol heads, but also passionate about anything on 2 and 4 wheels that is Italian.
It was great to see again old friends and get to meet fellow members not yet met, all blessed by a proper summer day; AROC, as well as the Kent & East Sussex section, turned up in big numbers to the point of having to move around cones to make extra space for those who booked a place in the allocated display area.
I witnessed a lot of visitors going and taking pictures through all of the Alfas, made all the more interesting by the usual variety of models spanning across several decades: a taste of what’s to come next weekend at National Alfa Day and the celebration of AROC’s 60th birthday!
Plenty of action both on display, including the competition of the most popular supercar amongst, as described by the commentator, two “hooligans” (Lambo Aventador and Ferrari 348) and a “gentleman” (Lambo Countach), as well as on track with multiple races taking place including two relevant to the Alfa Romeo Championship.
Thames Group also showed the “new kid on the block”: the Junior, but we already know, we’ll have the opportunity of more close encounters with Alfa Romeo’s latest model at our big event on Sunday the 18th of August; see you there!
