From the Club Manager
Hello and welcome to my first monthly e-mail newsletter to keep you all updated with what has been happening in the Club and also some of the forthcoming events to look forward to now that spring is, hopefully, around the corner.
I have now completed my first full month with AROC. During this busy time I have not only been involved in the day to day running of the Club, meeting some of the Sections, but also sponsors & advertisers, both old and new, whose financial input to the Club is so important.
Also vital to the Club are of course you, the members. Plans are progressing rapidly to update the website to further enhance your enjoyment of it, whilst continuing to report on all matters ‘Alfa’ and attracting new members. I am currently planning some more section meeting visits to get to see more of you and will continue this through the year.
A new and updated Member Benefit scheme will be launched on the website shortly to help save you money on products & services many of you are already purchasing. We trust you will take advantage of this scheme, as the more it is supported the more it can grow – as will the financial savings to you.
Marshall’s of Hitchin have kindly agreed to sponsor Spring Alfa Day on 17th April and possibly futures events. Furthermore they are keen to collaborate with AROC for our mutual benefit, more details of this in the future. Amongst the cars they are bringing to Duxford is an 8C Spider which is a must see model. The 27th March saw the first round of the AROC Sprint Series at Rockingham. The series is being well supported with entries as it enters its second season, so why not come along and support its events. AROC Sprint Series >
On the subject of racing, arrangements for the Alfa racing at Mallory on 18/19th June are well underway as part of the CTCRC Classic Festival. There is a reduced entry fee for AROC members before the end of April so please pass on the word to all Alfa racers you know ! CTCRC Classic Festival >
Essex Section News
The Section Committee are pleased that our introduction of two meetings in Essex each month appears to be fairly successful. We will continue to have our first Wednesday of the month meetings at Ashwells, near Brentwood, for our south Essex members, and at the Shoulder of Mutton, Fordham, near Colchester, for the third Wednesday of the month meetings for our north Essex members. All members are welcome at either or both meetings. We are planning to do more than a ‘Noggin and Natter’ at the Shoulder of Mutton, so keep an eye on the Section Diary in the Club magazine, our Essex Section Calendar and we will continue to send out our monthly reminders, by e-mail and regular mail.
