Section Secretary AGM report

Central Sussex
12 April 2025
A very quick synopsis of the AGM for those that didn’t attend.

The Chairman’s report was a summation of all of the events that were there to be attended last year.
Stan highlighted the fact that at first sight, section members might take a view that we didn’t do a great deal as a section, but in drilling down into the detail, there were plenty of events that we could have been a part of, just that very few of us did.
As a part of my Secretary’s report I was pleased to announce that we have a new venue for our Sunday breakfasts.
Starting on 18th May we will be at Tulleys Farm.
Unlike before, where the event date was always the nth Sunday of the month, we will now vary the date to miss events already in the calendar. So keep updated by watching our socials,  the section website or my communications.
Under “any other business” there was a request from the floor that the Christmas lunch could maybe a “dinner dance”. Also, there was a request that the venue had car parking on site to allow those not using public transport to attend.
That also highlighted the fact that geographically we are a widespread section and need to consider this more when selecting events and venues for such.
The committee were all voted in en bloc for a further 12 months in office.
The secretary undertook to contact the club manager for a statement of the section accounts.
