Report: Sunday June 10
Woodcock Garage situated in Willerby (HU10 6BY) is the area’s leading Alfa Romeo and Fiat independent specialists and recently celebrated their twenty-fifth year in business with an Open Day to commemorate the occation.
Proprietor and AROC Member Alan Bates, who has a vast amount of experience of working on Italy’s finest, gave us a guided tour of the workshop, where some of his customers’ cars were on display.
The Open Day ran from 1:00pm – 3:00pm and featured a barbeque and beverages supplied by the adjacent Willerby and Kirk Ella Social Club as well as a whole host of Italian cars brought along by many of Woodcock’s previous, present and future customers. Alan too was on hand all day to answer any technical questions among the gathered.
A friendly family concern, we were equally well-looked after by Alan’s wife Elaine on the day. Elaine also plays a part in the day-to-day running of the garage. Overall, it was a convivial and very well-attended event enjoyed by a good number of AROC Yorkshire Section members as well as guests from other car clubs who make use of Alan’s considerable technical product knowledge and expertise for regular servicing and repair jobs on their treasured Italian machinery.
The local firm Unit 1 Photography were in attendance to take pictures of the occasion and the album can be seen by logging on at: www.unit1photography.co.uk
